Use the following checks if your Clarus CF50 system has low pressure or weak water flow.
- Open the air-bleed valve on the filter until water sprays.
- Check for clogs in the pump basket or skimmer.
- Ensure the water level is halfway up the skimmer opening.
- Tightly packed or collapsed pleats.
- Cracked end caps.
- Oily or slimy buildup that did not rinse off.
- Visible discoloration or deformity.
- Rinse between all cartridge pleats.
- Inspect for discoloration, damage, or deformity.
- Replace the cartridge if it appears worn or misshapen.
- Reinstall the cartridge and restart the system.
- Is the pump lid O-ring seated properly and free from cracks?
- Are there any loose unions or cracked suction hoses?
- Is the pump fully primed, with the basket filled and no bubbles?
- Have you opened the air-bleed valve on the filter housing until water sprays?
- Are all valves fully open?
- Are any flow restrictors or small return jets installed?
- Is the pump appropriately sized? A 0.3-1 HP pump is recommended.
- Was the filter cartridge cleaned or replaced recently?
- Remove and clean the filter cartridge thoroughly.
- If it was recently cleaned, inspect it for damage or embedded debris.
- Check that return valves are fully open and jets are unobstructed.
- Confirm there are no heaters or other backpressure sources restricting flow.
- Turn off the system and inspect the pump basket.
- With the power off, carefully check the impeller for debris using a finger or suitable tool.
- Check for unusual vibration, noise, or overheating from the pump.
- Make sure the pump lid seals tightly and has no visible cracks.
